Feud ends in fatal shooting: ; Police had answered calls between Campbells Creek neighbors before

One man is dead after a long-standing feud between neighbors inan eastern Kanawha County hollow ended in gunfire.

Kanawha Metro 911 dispatchers received a call at 8:47 p.m.Tuesday from a man who said he'd shot his neighbor at his Gap ViewDrive home, which is just off Campbells Creek Drive.

State Police Trooper J.M. Comer from the Quincy detachment was inthe area and was the first to respond to the scene.

Dispatchers told the shooter to put the gun down. He said hewould put it under his recliner, and then wait on his porch forpolice. Comer said the man was standing on his porch still on thephone with emergency dispatchers waiting for law enforcement …
