COLONIE WOMAN GETS PROBATION.(Local)

A 29-year-old Colonie woman was placed on five years' probation Tuesday in Albany County Court for taking welfare benefits to which she was not entitled.

Mae Cooley of 305 Colonie St. was sentenced by Judge John G. Turner Jr. for her guilty plea to second-degree grand larceny, in which she admitted to stealing more than $1,500 in cash benefits and food stamps from the Albany County Department of Social Services by misrepresenting herself.

In other court action, Christopher Nickolson, 25, of 60 Osborne St., Albany, was sentenced to six months in the Albany County Jail …
